Samuel R.
Carl “Sam”

Sam was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. He obtained his Juris Doctor from DePaul’s College of Law in May 2011, where he was named to the Dean’s List. Before that, he received his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Delaware where he earned distinctions as a scholar-athlete.

Sam was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2011, but his courtroom experience started before he graduated law school. As an Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711 law clerk with the Cook County Public Defender’s office, Sam successfully litigated and won his first trial when he was only 24 years old.

A decade later, Sam continues to dedicate himself to his clients, using every tool at his disposal to provide the highest level of service for those he represents.

Sam has shown throughout his career that he is not afraid of a challenge and will fight passionately to hold accountable those responsible for harming innocent people. Known as a caring, diligent, and fierce advocate, he is well-respected by his colleagues as well as his opponents.

Sam is aware that many injured people have little to no experience with claims or lawsuits, which is why constant communication with his clients is a top priority. He believes that an attorney’s duty is not only to aggressively and creatively pursue justice, but also to ensure that the people he represents fully understand and feel comfortable with what can often seem like a confusing or intimidating process.

With the wide range of cases that come across his desk, Sam has dealt with matters at all ends of the spectrum of personal injury law. In doing so, he has developed an understanding that no two cases or clients are the same, and that each deserves his full attention and effort.

Sam also understands the importance of working with qualified experts to assist in getting his clients the full amount of compensation they are rightfully entitled to; not just for the losses they have suffered, but the losses they will continue to suffer in the future.

Mr. Carl routinely consults with medical experts, engineering experts, vocational rehabilitation experts, and economic experts to assist in proving these damages.

Outside of the office, Sam spends most of his free time with family and friends, is active outdoors, and enjoys reading and traveling. Sam is also active in numerous charitable organizations including Pencils of Promise, a non-profit organization that builds schools and increases educational opportunities in the developing world.

In 2020, Sam Carl sponsored the building of a school in Ghana, Africa, providing access to education for hundreds of local underprivileged children.
